My first-ever BAD review among my 47-country experiences The facilities are sufficient and convenient. The location is not far from downtown. The PINK-SHIRT receptionist is very genuine, warm-hearted and considerable. One and only: the BLACK-SHIRT receptionist 1. He comes immediately to blame you every time you ‘break the rules’ which are not written in public or clearly stated in advance(such as dressing codes). His extremely swift action even looks like he’s baiting on purpose. 2. He treats you like you are a criminal, gives you no chance for explanation, and shows zero patience for a communication, because he ‘HAS NO TIME.’ 3. He attributes everything to ‘HE DOESN’T SPEAK ENGLISH’, showing no basic respect and courtesy to international tourists who might be anxious in certain trouble and seeking help. 4. In the recent previous reviews, there are plenty of negative feedbacks in terms of suffering terrible experience from the receptionist, and now it seems that they talk about this guy. The hostel keeps emphasizing in their feedback response that “they welcome talk and everyone when you need assistance”, but actually welcome you with a rotten face from this receptionist as if you owe him. 5. Finally, I would like to say thank you to the PINK-SHIRT guy, for your warm-hearted hosting, and this hostel is physically perfect for everyone visiting Tashkent. But I feel sorry for you that your co-worker ruins everything. Summary: For everyone just seeking a bed in Tashkent, the facilities here are perfect, but you’d better carefully consider if you are willing to handle this BLACK-SHIRT guy.
